Photographers always talk about perspective. It doesn’t get more perspective than this: first ever photo of the Earth and the Moon in the same frame, 1977. Taken by Voyager 1.

The Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope orbits Earth with a complicated motion. This map shows the position of a particular pulsar (the Vela pulsar) inside the field of view of the telescope as it orbits around the Earth rocking north/south; rolls to keep its solar panels facing the Sun; and processes around its axis once ever 54 days. It is a compound of these three motions that gives rise to this image.

The Avengers..
wasn’t half bad. Iron Man stole the show.
Chirp chirp..
I had the sudden urge to venture outside and watch the lightning storm. It was every few seconds that the lightning would flash but no thunder followed. All I could hear were the little chirping sounds of all the new born birds in my neighborhood. It was peaceful just standing in my back yard looking up and seeing bright flashes sweep across the sky accompanied by the chirping of hungry hatchlings. Good times.
